Before Your Visit

TO PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION AND SAVE TIME, FOLLOW THESE STEPS BEFORE YOU GET SERVICE FOR YOUR COMPUTER

Complete as many steps as possible, even if your computer won't turn on.

Essential Steps (Required)

  1. Back up your data (Rocket Squad offers this service)

  2. Have your login password ready

  3. Disable Startup passwords

  4. Remove BIOS/firmware passwords - if set

  5. Bring your device and charger

Security Option

If concerned about data privacy: Create a new admin account, then delete your personal account and data before bringing device in.

Document Your Issues

  • Specific problems and symptoms

  • When issues started

  • Recent changes (updates, new software)

  • Error messages encountered

  • Warranty/purchase info (if applicable)

Before Drop-Off

Data Protection:

  • Sign out of all accounts (email, cloud, social media)

  • Document software licenses and product keys

  • Temporarily deactivate encryption software

  • Remove confidential documents

Hardware:

  • Remove USB devices and external drives

  • Note any physical damage

  • Clean device exterior

  • Remove privacy screens/covers

  • Bring related accessories (excluding monitors, printers, and large items)

System Info:

  • Document OS version and custom settings

  • List recently installed programs
